“This powerful film gets to the heart of what science now reveals about dyslexia. It honors the challenges that people with dyslexia may face, yet—true to the spirit of dyslexia itself—it sees beyond the struggle to the bigger picture. Through a compassionate and holistic lens, it shines a light on the creativity, insight, and problem-solving strengths that so often define dyslexic minds, while still recognizing the importance of meeting each learner’s unique needs.

More than just a documentary, it’s a shift in perspective—from viewing dyslexia as a limitation to understanding it as a different kind of strength. It acknowledges the need for support and intervention, but also celebrates the brilliance, innovation, and resilience that dyslexia can inspire.

This documentary is essential viewing for educators, parents, and anyone whose life has been touched by dyslexia. It reminds us that dyslexia is not just about what challenges us—it’s also about what makes us extraordinary.

Inspiring movie for all ages

Pretty positive we are a family of 4 dyslexics. My youngest has the common trouble with learning to read fluently. We all relate to the MIND categories, each with our own stronger suits. I have enjoyed the audio book and was excited to see the movie! I homeschool and watched it together with my 12- and 9-year-olds. They were glued to the whole thing–great job keeping it interesting even for a 9-yr-old! As homeschoolers, they are not growing up with any of the stigma around reading troubles.

“It’s pretty interesting to see how many people can use their dyslexia for their job.” -9 yr old

Fortunately with resources like this book and movie, my kids are growing up knowing and understanding their strengths and potential. For that I am so grateful!

Great Movie! Get My Time Machine!

In elementary school —which was in the advent of disco— no one understood how I was wired or how I learned. I was a problem child told to cowboy-up and take fourth grade again. How I wish I had a Time Machine to take this video back to my fourth grade teacher (Both of them):  See! I’m not lazy or stupid!!

Decades passed before I learned I was dyslexic. What a wonderful film for parents and adults to discuss with the Muggles (Neurotypicals) who have no awareness of dyslexia.

Framing. The film will help parents & adult dyslexics frame the discussion at school or work. For example, the parts on episodic memory really resonated. At work, I often explain to colleagues I have vivid episodic memory but often need context clues helps me access it.

Great tool for parents. I often handed out copies of The Dyslexic Advantage book to my sons’ teachers and school administrators. How lucky parents are now to be able to share this video.

Great Work! Loved the movie!!

We all very much enjoyed the film, and it provided some excellent thoughts for our grandson.  We’ll be sending the information on to others we know with dyslexic children/grandchildren.
